Our monogram

posted on November 18, 2008 by aylee

monogram jg

I wanted a simple monogram that we can use to personalize our wedding.  I don’t really want a monogram with our names spelled out or something too obvious.  I thought the simplicity of the round monogram is perfect.  When I finished creating it, I just realized that the monogram resembled an anchor - a perfect representation of our nautical wedding theme.

New blog category icons!

posted on April 25, 2008 by aylee

I finally changed my blog category icons.  Previously, I was using fishes as my icons for my categories.  I finally changed the fishes to icons that sort of relate to the category they represent:

Not-so-new monograms

posted on January 2, 2008 by aylee

I finally got in the mood to browse through some of the previous monogram designs and added those that are still not included in the Aylee Designs Monogram Design Collection.  I actually found quite a few.  Click here to order some.

More at Aylee Designs

posted on September 21, 2007 by aylee

It’s been a while since I’ve added new monogram designs to the monogram design collection.  I still have more, but I still have to find the time to set them up and upload them.  I tried to upload the more basic ones first:

Recently, I created a boarding pass for a child’s birthday party.  It was actually my first time to create a kiddy theme.  I’m so used to creating wedding boarding passes, that I had to browse through all my fonts to find more kiddy types.  Here’s a sample of the birthday party invitation:

Updated gallery

posted on September 2, 2007 by aylee

I finally got to change the layout of my gallery which was a mess.  The new one is simpler, larger, and it finally includes a photo of me!

The gallery at gnyc.net

There’s really not much info in it since it’s just my online photo album.  Of course I haven’t added the new photos yet.  I still have Jared and Ashley’s wedding to upload.

FRIDAY READ:
WPDesigner

WPDesignerIf you use Wordpress, you would find WPDesigner very helpful.

WPDesigner has a long list of free Wordpress themes.  The themes are one of the cleanest ones I’ve seen.  If you don’t want to get stuck in a particular theme and create your own, but don’t know where or how to start?  WPDesigner also has tutorials.  With the tutorials, you can learn to modify an existing theme or create your own from scratch.

pre-designed templates

posted on August 21, 2007 by aylee

I provide basic templates for a few projects (i.e. boarding pass, fan, tag) which contain the outlines.  I did this to allow the user to explore his/her own creativity and design the project him/herself.  But after a few requests, I’ve realized that a lot of my readers don’t have the time to create their own design.

So I decided to provide pre-designed templates and all the user needs to do is enter his/her own text or content.  The templates will be available for a fee and will be copyrighted.  They can be used for personal use only.

But I need your help before I can start creating them.  I need to know what format most people will/can use (poll below).

For templates, what format/s would you prefer?
